Why CrossFit D-Day?

As the quote on our wall states, what is the most important thing?  It is people, it is people, it is people.  Our full time staff are committed to bringing you innovative and progressive training and oversee all our class programming and classes to ensure you are getting the results you seek.  Our programming allows for all levels of fitness and ages, from those who just want to be active, to those who really want to push themselves.

We build a community through our diverse range of members.  It doesn’t matter what you lift or where you finish in a workout, once you walk into the gym we are in this together and it’s this support and friendship that builds a good community.

We have no joining fees, no contracts, unlimited sessions and open gym included.

Coach Grant & Pip

Ever since starting on our CrossFit journey in 2016, it has always been our desire and dream to build better humans by opening our own Box.  We have fulfilled our dream and now operate our own CrossFit affiliate where the gym is affectionately known as the PIT.

We began our fitness journey as GRIPFIT which is a combination of both our names.  We ran fitness and Spartan classes in Nelson where we forged great friendships and community with the people that we trained.

As Grant has owned and operated successful gyms in Australia as well as both having successfully planned and held the 2017 Police Winter Games CrossFit championships, we believe that our diverse and extensive experience in the fitness industry and sports management, will allow us to bring a vast knowledge to our members to ensure that their goals are met and that our programming is innovative and progressive.

Our Coaches

Coach Grant (Grunta)

Coach Grant (Grunta) has over 40 years experience in the fitness industry and is passionate about all things fitness, especially CrossFit as he believes that it is the only fitness regime that works.  He has represented both Australia and New Zealand as a sportsman and is a State Champion, National Champion, Pan Pacific Champion and World champion in various sports.  He knows what it takes to succeed and is a believer in that the only limit is you.  He knows that results cost and will work with you to get the best out of you.

Our Coaches

Coach Pip

Coach Pip started weight training at the age of 17 to build strength for the various sports she was involved in at the time including Netball, Touch Rugby, Swimming and Athletics.  At that time CrossFit was not an option as it was not established until the year 2000.

She has always been passionate about keeping active and has taken part in numerous sporting events and activities over the years including Triathlons, Sea Swimming, 1/2 Marathons, Obstacle Racing and Circuit Training.

Since starting CrossFit in 2016 she has become hooked and would love to share her enthusiasm for this sport with you.

Our mantra

Our mantra of ‘One Day or Day One, It’s your Decision’ is about having the courage to step out of your comfort zone, embrace the unknown and abnormal and have the strength to undertake whatever you set your mind to.
