Why CrossFit D-Day?

At CrossFit D‑Day, our coaching team is committed to delivering innovative, progressive training. We oversee all programming and classes to ensure you’re supported, challenged, and moving toward the results you’re here for.

Our workouts are designed for every level — from those wanting to stay active to those ready to push their limits. Every session can be scaled to suit your experience, age, and goals.

We’re proud of the community we’ve built. Our members come from all walks of life, and once you step through the door, we’re in it together. It doesn’t matter what you lift or where you finish — the support, encouragement, and friendships formed here are what make D‑Day special.

We keep things simple: no joining fees, no contracts, unlimited sessions, and open gym included.

The Owners

Grant (Grunta) Jansen & Pip Peters

Our CrossFit journey began in 2016, and from day one we knew we wanted to build better humans by creating a space of our own. That dream became reality with CrossFit D‑Day — affectionately known as The PIT — where we now pour our passion, experience, and energy into our community every day.

We began our fitness journey as GRIPFIT, a combination of both our names and a reflection of the partnership behind everything we do.

Grant’s background includes owning and operating successful gyms in Australia, and together we planned and delivered the 2017 Police Winter Games CrossFit Championships.

With extensive experience in fitness, coaching, and sports management, we bring a broad and practical knowledge base to our members. Our goal is simple: deliver innovative, progressive programming and support every athlete in achieving their goals.

Our Coaches

Coach Grant (Grunta)

Coach Grant brings over 45 years of experience in the fitness industry and is passionate about all things training — especially CrossFit, which he believes is the most effective and proven fitness methodology. He has represented both Australia and New Zealand as a sportsman and is a State, National, Pan Pacific, and World Champion across multiple disciplines.

Grant knows what it takes to succeed. He believes the only limit is you, and he’s committed to helping every athlete push past their boundaries to achieve real results.

Our Coaches

Coach Pip

Coach Pip began weight training at 17 to build strength for the sports she loved — Netball, Touch Rugby, Swimming, and Athletics. CrossFit didn’t exist back then, but the drive to train hard and stay active has always been part of who she is.

Over the years, Pip has taken on a wide range of sporting challenges, including triathlons, sea swimming events, half marathons, obstacle racing, and circuit training. She thrives on movement, challenge, and pushing her own limits.

Since discovering CrossFit in 2016, she’s been hooked — not just on the training, but on the community, the mindset, and the belief that anyone can become stronger, more confident, and more capable. Pip brings that same enthusiasm to every class she coaches.
